If you enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, water skiing or long walks on the beach, then Beaufort County is just the place for you! Beaufort County has 587 square miles of islands, 64 larger ones and 2,000 smaller. Our beaches and waterways are what makes the Lowcountry Islands what they are. Although you can enjoy Beaufort and Hilton Head Island without boating, you have missed a very special part of what makes our community so unique if you do not spend some time out on the water.
The LowCountry provides and maintains some really nice public boat landings. These landings are stragetically located to give you quick and safe access to some of the best fishing spots.

Remember to have fun and be safe. More about boat safety. There are several artificial reefs and fishing piers. that provide great fishing. Make sure you review the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources for Fish and Wildlife Regulations before you start fishing.
