The LowCountry coastal waters is well known for its calm seas and excellent year round fishing. Whether you want to go fishing, shrimping, cruising, or to learn more about our Ecology, you can find a great charter to make your outing a perfect, safe and memorable experience. Depending on the fishing season, you will catch all sorts of different species of fish while fishing either inshore or offshore aboard one of the many charter fishing boats available.
Why charter a boat? Charter boat captains know where and when the fish are biting and how to catch them. They also provide all the equipment you need to catch fish (tackle, bait, and expertise) You can focus on having fun. Many will also clean and fillet your catch. When you book your trip, ask your charter captain what services are provided. Be sure to call ahead and book your trip in advance, for many charter services fill up in advance.
What you should bring: Tennis shoes or deck shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a camera, a cooler to take your fish home in (captain will ice it down on the charter boat for you), beverages (no glass), food, rain gear.
There are several artificial reefs and fishing piers. that provide great fishing. Before you start fishing, make sure to review the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources for Fish and Wildlife Regulations.
